Candidate AI Chat

Updated August 4, 2026

Overview

Candidate AI Chat lets you ask plain‑language questions about a candidate and get grounded answers — without scrolling through their CV, notes, and interview transcripts yourself. It reads the candidate's profile, their parsed CV, the requirements of the vacancy they're linked to, and any recorded interview summaries, then answers in your company's language.

It's available on every candidate's page to users who can manage candidates (Owner, Admin, HR, Recruiter, Manager).

Where to find it

  1. Go to Recruitment → Candidates and open a candidate.
  2. Select the AI Chat tab on the candidate's page.
  3. Type a question in the box at the bottom and press Enter.

The answer streams back in a moment, and your conversation is kept on the candidate's page.

What you can ask

Ask anything you'd otherwise dig for yourself, for example:

  • "How many years of commercial Elixir do they have?"
  • "Are they a good fit for this vacancy, and where are the gaps?"
  • "What did they say about their notice period in the interview?"
  • "Which of the required skills are missing from their CV?"

The assistant grounds its answers in real data about this candidate. When the vacancy was created with AI, it can explain fit requirement by requirement — pointing to the evidence behind each match or gap. It also reads recorded interview summaries, so you can ask about what was discussed on a call.

A shared, ongoing conversation

The chat is per candidate and shared with your team. Anyone with access sees the same history, and you can pick up where a colleague left off. The conversation is saved, so it's still there when you return to the candidate later.

When information is missing

The assistant won't guess. Instead it tells you what's needed:

  • If the CV hasn't finished parsing, it asks you to re‑upload the CV.
  • If the vacancy has no structured requirements yet, it suggests creating the vacancy with AI first so it can compare fit properly.
  • If you mention a figure it can't find in the profile, it asks where the number came from rather than inventing one.

It also stays on topic — questions unrelated to evaluating this candidate for this role are politely declined.

Tips

  • Be specific about what you need ("summarise their leadership experience" beats "tell me about them").
  • For the richest fit analysis, create the vacancy with AI first — that's what powers the requirement‑by‑requirement breakdown.
  • Ask follow‑ups; the chat keeps context within the candidate's conversation.

FAQ

Q: What language does it answer in? A: It replies in your company's working language (your account locale), even if you ask in another language.

Q: Can it compare two candidates? A: No. Each chat is focused on a single candidate.

Q: Is the conversation private to me? A: No — it's shared across your team for that candidate, so everyone sees the same thread.

Q: Will it ever make up an answer? A: It's designed not to. If the data isn't there, it says so and asks for the source instead of guessing.
