Creating a Vacancy with AI
Overview
Instead of filling in a long form, you can describe the role you're hiring for in plain language and let Marmend draft the whole job posting for you — title, description, responsibilities, benefits, skills, location, salary, and job type. You then review, tweak anything, and save or publish.
Creating a vacancy from a prompt
- Go to Recruiting → Vacancies and start a new vacancy (the "Who are you looking to hire?" screen).
- Describe the role in the text box. Include whatever you know — title, seniority, key skills, location, and a salary range if you have one. You can also dictate it with the microphone instead of typing.
- Submit. Marmend generates a complete draft in a few seconds and opens it in the editor.
Tip: The more detail you give, the better the draft. A one-line prompt still works, but mentioning skills, seniority, and constraints produces a sharper result.
Refining with the chat
The left-hand chat panel keeps a history of your prompts and drafts. Type a follow-up instruction — "make it shorter", "add a salary range of 60–80k EUR/year", "make the tone friendlier" — and Marmend produces an updated draft. You can switch between earlier drafts in the history.
Editing fields by hand
Every part of the preview is editable — click to change the title, description, responsibilities, benefits, location, salary, employment type, or work mode. Your manual edits are always kept.
Working with skills
Skills appear as chips (up to 10). You can:
- Add a skill manually — click the + and type it.
- Generate more with AI — click the sparkles button to have Marmend suggest skills that fit the role and fill the empty slots. It won't repeat skills you already have.
- Regenerate skills — when all 10 slots are full, the button becomes Regenerate skills. This replaces the AI-suggested skills with a fresh set while keeping any skills you added by hand.
While skills are being generated you'll see placeholder tiles; they fill in when the suggestions arrive. If generation fails, you'll get a brief error and can simply try again.
Saving and publishing
Nothing is saved automatically while you edit — the draft lives in your session until you choose:
- Save as draft — stores the vacancy without publishing it.
- Publish — saves and publishes the vacancy so it appears on your job board.
You can reopen a saved vacancy later and use the same AI editor to update it.
Salary note
Marmend never invents a salary range. If you don't provide one, the salary fields stay empty until you fill them in.
