Candidate Experience & AI-Feedback
When you open a candidate, two parts of their profile are powered by Marmend's AI: the Experience tab, which turns an uploaded CV into a clean, structured work history, and the AI-Feedback panel, which scores how well the candidate fits the vacancy.
The Experience tab
The Experience tab shows the candidate's background as Marmend read it from their CV — you don't have to dig through the original file.
Work history and education
- Work history — each role shows the job title and company, the dates worked, and a duration tag (for example "3 years 2 months"). Roles still in progress show "Present" as the end date. Key responsibilities appear as bullet points underneath, and the candidate's location is shown when it's available.
- Education — institutions, degree and field of study, and the years attended.
Requirement highlights on CV bullet points
When a candidate is assigned to a vacancy, Marmend marks the parts of their work history that show they meet that vacancy's requirements. Those phrases carry a green dashed underline.
- Click an underlined phrase to open a small pop-up naming the vacancy requirement it satisfies, with a View vacancy link that opens the vacancy itself.
- The pop-up repositions itself to stay fully on screen when the phrase sits near the edge of the window.
- Only the specific matching phrase is underlined — not the whole bullet point. A long responsibility may have just a few underlined words in the middle of it.
- An underline always means evidence that a requirement is met. Requirements the candidate does not meet are deliberately never highlighted, so a bullet point without an underline is not a judgement — look at the Missing view of the AI-Feedback panel for gaps.
- If you change the vacancy the candidate is assigned to, the analysis runs again and the highlights switch to the new vacancy's requirements.
If you don't see any highlights
Highlights need two things: a CV that Marmend has finished reading, and an assigned vacancy whose AI match analysis has already run. If either one is missing, every bullet point stays plain text — that's normal, not an error.
Even with both in place, a bullet point may stay unmarked if the CV describes a requirement in its own words rather than matching it closely. The requirement can still count as met in the Matching view of the AI-Feedback panel — the underline only appears where a phrase lines up clearly enough to point at.
The "from interview" badge
Some details aren't taken from the CV — they're picked up automatically from interview recordings. Any entry that came from an interview is marked with a small from interview badge, so you can tell at a glance what the candidate wrote on their CV versus what came up in conversation.
What you'll see while the CV is being read
The Experience tab adapts to the state of the candidate's CV:
- "Data is loading…" — Marmend is analysing the CV. This usually takes a short moment; the tab fills in automatically when it's done.
- "Experience unavailable / The candidate's CV has not been uploaded" — no CV is on file yet. Use the Upload CV button to add one, and analysis starts as soon as you save.
- "Upload failed" — a CV is attached but Marmend couldn't read it (for example an unsupported file format or a scanned image with no text). Use Upload CV to replace it with a supported file and Marmend will try again.
Re-running the analysis
Whenever you upload or replace a CV from the Experience tab, Marmend automatically re-reads it and refreshes the work history and education — there's nothing extra to click.
The AI-Feedback panel
The AI-Feedback panel compares the candidate against the vacancy they're applied to and summarises the fit. On desktop it sits next to the Experience tab; on mobile it has its own Matching tab.
Match score
At the top you'll see a single percentage — how well, overall, the candidate matches the vacancy. This is the same score shown on the vacancy board.
Matching vs Missing
Two views break the score down into plain language:
- Matching — the candidate's strengths for this role: the skills and experience that line up well with what the vacancy asks for.
- Missing — the gaps or concerns: requirements the candidate doesn't clearly meet, so you know what to probe in an interview.
Switch between the two with the toggle at the top of the panel.
When a score isn't ready
If a match score can't be shown, the panel explains why instead of leaving you guessing:
- "Calculating…" — Marmend is still analysing the CV to produce the score.
- "No CV provided" — add a CV to the candidate's profile to enable matching.
- "Format error" — the CV couldn't be analysed because of an unsupported format or missing text.
- "Not available" — there isn't enough information in the CV or the vacancy to calculate a match.
Candidates who aren't attached to any vacancy won't have a match score — there's nothing to compare them against.
