Connect your LinkedIn account to Marmend to share professional updates and access your network directly from the platform.
Overview
The LinkedIn integration allows you to:
- Share updates to your LinkedIn profile
- Post professional content from Marmend
- Access your LinkedIn network information
- Streamline your professional communication
Prerequisites
Before connecting LinkedIn, ensure you have:
- A LinkedIn account (personal or company page access)
- Admin or Owner role in Marmend
- Permission to connect third-party apps to your LinkedIn account
Connecting LinkedIn
Step 1: Navigate to Integrations
- Click on Admin in the left sidebar
- Select Integrations from the admin menu
- Locate the LinkedIn integration card
Step 2: Authorize LinkedIn
- Click the Connect button on the LinkedIn card
- You will be redirected to LinkedIn's authorization page
- Review the permissions requested:
- Profile - Access to basic profile information
- Email - Access to your email address
- Share on LinkedIn - Permission to post on your behalf
- Click Allow to grant Marmend access
Step 3: Confirmation
- You will be redirected back to Marmend
- A success message will confirm the connection
- The LinkedIn card will now show Disconnect button
- Your LinkedIn account is now connected!
Using LinkedIn Integration
Sharing Updates
Once connected, you can share professional updates to LinkedIn:
- Create your content in Marmend
- Use the LinkedIn sharing option
- Your update will be posted to your LinkedIn profile
- Posts appear as public updates visible to your network
What Gets Posted
When you share to LinkedIn from Marmend:
- Text content (up to 3000 characters)
- Public visibility (visible to all your connections)
- Posted as yourself (using your connected account)
Managing Your Connection
Viewing Connection Status
To check if LinkedIn is connected:
- Go to Admin > Integrations
- Look for the LinkedIn card
- Connect button = Not connected
- Disconnect button = Connected
Disconnecting LinkedIn
To remove the LinkedIn integration:
- Go to Admin > Integrations
- Click Disconnect on the LinkedIn card
- Confirm the disconnection in the modal
- Your LinkedIn account will be unlinked
Note: Disconnecting removes Marmend's access but doesn't delete previously posted content.
Reconnecting
To reconnect LinkedIn after disconnecting:
- Follow the same steps as initial connection
- Re-authorize access on LinkedIn
- Your new connection will be established
Permissions & Privacy
What Marmend Can Access
When you connect LinkedIn, Marmend can:
- ✅ Read your basic profile (name, email, profile picture)
- ✅ Post updates on your behalf
- ✅ View your email address
What Marmend Cannot Access
Marmend cannot:
- ❌ Read your private messages
- ❌ Access your connections' data
- ❌ Modify your profile information
- ❌ Post without your explicit action
Revoking Access
You can revoke Marmend's access at any time:
Option 1: Within Marmend
- Use the Disconnect button in integrations
Option 2: LinkedIn Settings
- Go to LinkedIn Settings & Privacy
- Navigate to Data Privacy > Permitted Services
- Find "Marmend" and click Remove
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
Problem: "LinkedIn connection failed" error
Solutions:
- Ensure you clicked "Allow" on LinkedIn's authorization page
- Check that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
- Clear your browser cache and try again
Problem: Authorization page doesn't load
Solutions:
- Check your internet connection
- Verify LinkedIn is accessible (not blocked by firewall)
- Try a different browser
- Contact your IT administrator if on corporate network
Posting Issues
Problem: Unable to share to LinkedIn
Solutions:
- Verify your LinkedIn connection is active (check integrations page)
- Ensure your LinkedIn account is in good standing
- Check that you haven't exceeded LinkedIn's posting limits
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
Problem: Posts not appearing on LinkedIn
Solutions:
- Allow a few minutes for posts to appear
- Check your LinkedIn profile directly
- Verify the post wasn't rejected by LinkedIn's content policies
- Review LinkedIn's activity log for the post
Token Expired
Problem: "LinkedIn token expired" message
Solution:
- This is normal for security reasons
- Click Connect to re-authorize
- Your previous settings will be preserved

Q: Can I connect a LinkedIn Company Page? A: Currently, only personal LinkedIn accounts are supported.
